- Bunkers should be mixed as little as possible.
- Rejecting an out of specification fuel delivery can be an expensive option.
- By using knowledge of the engine plant and fuel treatment system, it is often possible to process an out of specification fuel in order for it to become acceptable for use in an engine.
- Testing a fuel onboard and or in a laboratory is a key part of ensuring maximum reliability for the engine plant.

Comment: Modern engines capable of using high CCAI fuel - but be careful at part load.
