Kittiwake dealers and agents from 13 countries gathered at the Eastin Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia early in December for the inaugural Asia Pacific Dealer Conference.
During the two day conference, which ran from December 1st to 2nd, delegates were updated on Kittiwakes activities and the latest developments in the company’s product range.
The conference focussed on the key issue of business development in the Asia Pacific region. During his keynote speech, Chris Leigh-Jones, Managing Director of Kittiwake Developments Ltd announced the acquisition of a stake in Water Test Systems Pty Ltd of Sydney , Australia and WTS Sales Director, Steven Easton outlined how the two companies plan to combine their strengths to become a major player in the Asia Pacific water test kit market.
On the technical front, delegates were then introduced to Kittiwake’s Analex range of ferrous wear debris monitors. Following an in-depth review of the Analex pq technology the delegates were able to test oil samples for themselves on the new Analex pqF Field Ferrous Debris Monitor.
The dealers also heard a presentation from Chris Kelaart, of Sietronics, an Analex dealer for more than 10 years. Chris gave an insight into the challenges faced by an Analex dealer and provided excellent support in answering the many questions that followed. Each participant received a copy of the comprehensive Analex Dealer Pack and an accompanying CD-ROM.
Kittiwake would like to thank the management and employees of its new Malaysian Distributor, Motor Teknologi and Industri SDN BHD, who provided tremendous support in assisting with the organisation of this event.
Complimenting the full program of technical and commercial presentations during the day, the delegates and their partners, along with Kittiwake management and a number of important customers were entertained in the evening to a sumptuous barbeque in the beautiful surroundings of the Tropicana Golf and Country Club.
Commenting on the closing day of the conference, Martin Lucas, Kittiwake’s Director Asia Pacific said:
“Bringing all of our distributors from the region together under one roof for an intensive review of the growth prospects for the area has given us great confidence in the potential success of our new venture and we are sure that the next few years will show the benefits of opening up this new regional office”.
