Safer and more stable way to test Boiler Phosphates

VanMol Reagent Kit1/13/2006

For many years the water treatment industry has been using Vanadomolybdate Reagent for the determination of boiler phosphates by comparator.

The short shelf life and highly acidic nature of the Vanadomolybdate reagent used in the current phosphate test has prompted Kittiwake to develop a safer and more stable option. Kittiwake R&D laboratories are now proud to introduce a new reagent set with significant improvements over this traditional method.

New! VanMol Reagent Pack (AS-K26933-KW)

Contains reagent and sachets for 100 phosphate tests using

KS183 - Nitric Acid (500ml) Acidifier
KP526 - VanMol Sachets - Pack of 100 (10ml) Active agents
The benefits of the new method include:

Increased shelf life (from 9 months to 3 years)
Reduced acid concentration
100 test/pack
Less prone to interferences
Compatible with the current 10-100 ppm (3/60) Comparator Disc
Technical Tip

It can be difficult to overcome interferences from coloured samples (especially if tannin is the oxygen scavenger) as the yellow colour produced can be masked. Acidifying the blank with the new dilute nitric acid (KS183), as well as the sample, removes much of this interfering colour and enables successful compensation from the blank.
