Kittiwake trains Talisman Energy

Talisman Energy, the Canadian energy giant, who operate oil and gas platforms with Petronas off the coasts of Peninsula and East Malaysia; have started a major CBM (Condition Based Monitoring) programme which has resulted in them acquiring the first in a number of Oil Test Centres intended to be allocated initially to three platforms. A total of 40 platform staff attended four day long training sessions in Kuala Lumpur during September and October.

The training course included looking at the theory behind oil condition monitoring and the various equipment options available and then moving on to a demonstration of the OTC followed by “hands on” practice. The groups were also introduced to the new Analex fdM Ferrous Debris Monitor, the first instrument to enable ferrous debris monitoring to be undertaken in the field, and also to the new range of Analexrs On Line Sensors both of which Talisman are currently evaluating with a view to them be included in the CBM programme.
