Oil Condition Monitoring - Mines & Quaries

Mining and Quarrying operations use lubricants on their heavy equipment that must be robust and effective in the harshest of operating environments, both on the surface and underground.

In Quarries and Mines, lubricants are used under very high loads and widely varying temperatures. The movement of rock and mineral ores is heavy, dusty, dirty, and sometimes, very wet work.

When these conditions are imposed on large bearings, engine or gearbox lubricants and transport systems, the lubricant can degrade rapidly, resulting in increased wear and equipment failure over extended periods.

Regular sampling and testing of lubricants operating under these extreme conditions is the only way to ensure optimal performance from heavy duty mining and quarrying equipment. Kittiwake's product range is designed for use by engineers in remote and inhospitable sites, where laboratory oil analysis is simply impractical.

ANALEXrs On-line Machinery Oil Condition Sensors

Kittiwake's unique ANALEX range of machinery and oil condition monitors provide both an off-line monitoring and on-line, remote condition monitoring capability, enabling engineers to preserve equipment availability while simultaneously minimising costs.

ANALEXpq Off-line Oil Condition Monitoring

The ANALEX range of Ferrous Debris Monitors are suitable for use both in the field and in laboratory conditions. A sample of oil containing ferromagnetic particles is placed upon the sensor, thus altering the balance between the coils. The resulting 'out-of-balance' signal is amplified, filtered and displayed as a PQ Index, which relates directly to the mass of the ferromagnetic debris in the sample.
