ANALEXrs Scrapedown Total Ferrous Debris Sensor

ANALEXrs Total Ferrous Debris Sensor for Scrapedown Applications

Did you know that the average vessel cost for cylinder oil for a vessel is around 3 Million Euros! Significant? Certainly!! Would you like to decrease the usage of lubricating oils based on the wear levels in the liner?

The ANALEXrs Total Ferrous Debris Sensor is unique in that it is the only equipment and testing process that provides an early indication of engine failure. The sensor also immediately highlights the location and severity of any wear problems. It shows whether they are catastrophic or more gradual. To an engineer, this allows extrapolation of the machinery condition trend to a point in time where failure may be predicted.

Throughout the field testing, the ANALEXrs Total Ferrous Debris Sensor prototype had detected and measured iron content, including sudden high ferrous wear, attributed to catalyst fines in the fuel. The unit had been totally proven against laboratory analysis and final modifications have now been made to make the product available to the marine community.

Purchase Options for Scrapedown Include:
FG-K16120-KW - Wear Debris Sensor
FG-K16860-KW - Wear Debris Sensor - Auto Air Blast with Level Sensor
FG-K16353-KW - Wear Debris Sensor Evaluation Kit

* All options come complete with Scrapedown Software. The Evaluation Kit also includes a Power Supply and Display.

Benefits of the Total Ferrous Debris Sensor for Scrapedown Applications

Reduction of the cylinder oil feed rate to the optimal value - reduces cost and potential problems from liner lacquering or bore polishing due to over dosage of the cylinder oil.

Fast response when a problem occurs – ‘detect and repair’ before the problem becomes serious.

Picks up the ingress of fuel CAT fines in real-time allowing preventative measures to be taken before extreme wear of engine liners is realised. It also allows real-time plotting of cylinder liner bed-in, so action can be taken e.g. increase of lubricant, if problems occur.

Acts as an early warning system, alerting ships engineering staff to potential main engine damage or failure. This allows preventative maintenance during the ships passage to the next port, or even a route change. Real-time wear analysis improves maintenance scheduling.

The ANALEXrs Total Ferrous Debris Sensor not only detects damage, but also the severity of the damage.
