Bromine is used extensively in leisure and industrial applications as a biocide to control bacterial contamination.
Kittiwake have an extensive range of bromine test kits, from the ECON Comparator , through to portable colorimeters or Smart 2 multiparameter photometers , which provide the ultimate accuracy.
Present as combimed or free bromine, it is a powerful biocide added to swimming pools and spas to maintain water quality. In combination with non-oxidising biocides, bromine provides bacterial control in open evaporative cooling systems, preventing the formation of slimes, biofilms and fouling of pumps, pipework and heat exchangers.
