Dissolved oxygen in natural waters is essential for sustaining aquatic life. Industrial pollution can deplete oxygen levels, threatening this delicate ecosystem.
Colorimetric dissolved oxygen test kits can be used on-site for ecological purposes and to assess the effectiveness of boiler deoxygenation plant/chemicals.
Dissolved oxygen is removed from boiler feedwater to prevent corrosion of the boiler and associated pipework. This is achieved by raising the feedwater temperature and using chemical treatments to scavenge unwanted oxygen.
