Quaternary ammonium or quaternary phosphonium compounds are used extensively as industrial biocides for the inhibition of microbial growth in cooling waters .
QUAT's are particularly effective at stripping slimes and algi from metal surfaces, where other non-oxidising or oxidising biocides provide a more effective kill. QUAT's are also effective "wetting agents" and are used extensively in surface cleaning agents/chemicals for sanitation purposes.
Kittiwake's Quats/Polyquat/Amine Test Kit provides essential testing for the active QUAT in diluted sanitation products or for dosage confirmation on automated plant. Alternatively, drop Kittiwake standard drop test kits are effective and easy test method.
