The flashpoint of a fuel is an important quality and safety assurance measure. The flashpoint of biodiesel is used to detect contamination from low flashpoint methanol.

The Flashpoint Tester / Analyzer is an easy to use instrument that can complete a flash/no-flash test in less than two minutes, or determine the flash point of a sample within a temperature range of 0 to 300°C in typically 8 minutes.   Supplied with a 2ml syringe, ignitor, mains lead and instruction manual the flashpoint tester / analyzer boasts the following features.
  • Simple two button keypad.
  • Digital display showing test parameters, instrument status, and the flashpoint test result.
  • Audible alarm when flashpoint test is completed and action is required from the operator.
  • Automatic flash detector enhances repeatability and reduces the chance of mis-interpretation.
  • Small sample size - 2 or 4ml
  • Portable operation
  • Simple calibration
The cup is heated at a rate of 2°C per minute from the start temperature and an audible prompt to carry out a flashpoint test occurs every 1°C rise up to 100°C, every 2°C rise over 100°C. Gas for the test jet/shutter assembly is supplied from an integral gas tank, which is filled using a standard butane (lighter) refill cartridge. The instrument is lightweight and suitable for mobile use when operated from the optional 12 volt power supply adaptor.

For shipping reasons, a butane refill cartridge is not supplied and so will need to be purchased locally.

The requirement for on-line machinery and oil condition monitoring is becoming evermore apparent as maintenance costs increase and production capacity and equipment performance is maximised.

While temperature, pressure and vibration sensors all have their part to play in a condition monitoring package, early detection of changes in oil and lubricant condition and regular, consistent monitoring of wear metal debris in rotating plant provide greater insight into the actual condition of vital machinery and equipment.

Kittiwake have developed a range of innovative and practical on-line sensors for wear metal debris and oil condition detection and monitoring.

The ANALEXrs range is designed to provide plant engineers and maintenance managers with real time, continuously monitored testing and analysis data for critical plant and equipment.

Suitable for use with slow, medium and high speed diesel engines, gas turbines, gearboxes, compressors, generators, vehicles and other oil filled plant, these sensors help to increase productivity, reduce costs and improve profitability.
